SUPERENDURO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 1, POLAND

ALFREDO GOMEZ SECURES FIFTH OVERALL FOR BEL-RAY HUSQVARNA FACTORY RACING

At the end of a drama filled night Husqvarna’s Alfredo Gomez finished fifth overall at the first round of the 2015 FIM SuperEnduro World Championship. Faced with a demanding track and what many considered to be the strongest ever line-up of indoor enduro specialists, Gomez secured consistent results despite making mistakes in all races.

The night’s opening Prestige class final saw Alfredo claim the holeshot and remain out front for three laps. Looking extremely comfortable around the unpredictable course, in trying to pass a stranded, lapped rider Alfredo was knocked off the track and off his bike. Frustratingly, in an instant he went from race leader to third with further mistakes seeing him eventually place fifth.

In the second and third finals Alfredo saw small mistakes prevent him from placing higher than the sixth and fifth place results he secured. Showing good speed, and ensuring a strong start to his 2015 SuperEnduro campaign, Alfredo sits just five points behind third placed Cody Webb in the SuperEnduro World Championship standings.

HUSQVARNA MOTORCYCLES’ GRAHAM JARVIS PLACES THIRD OVERALL AT THE ROOF OF AFRICA

Bel-Ray Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Graham Jarvis ended his participation in the 2014 Roof of Africa in Lesotho with a third place result following three tough days of competition.

Renowned for being one of the toughest and most unpredictable extreme enduro races on the calendar, the 2014 Roof of Africa lived up to it’s fearsome reputation. Long, long days of racing and some seriously hard terrain ensured a high rate of attrition for the competitors involved.

Entering the event as defending champion, Jarvis had his sights set on making it a repeat victory. Feeling confident following his recent win at the GetzenRodeo in Germany and Wildwood Extreme in Australia, Jarvis initially got day one off to a good start.

Quickly catching early pace setter Wade Young, Jarvis fought his way into the lead and opened up a small but comfortable advantage. On a tricky water crossing, the Husqvarna rider ran into problems when he badly drowned his bike. Loosing a lot of time in getting it going again, he ended day one in ninth.

Blazusiak dominates opening round of 2015 Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship.

Wow! What a night. If ever there was proof that SuperEnduro delivers some of the most exciting off-road motorcycle racing there is, the first round of the 2015 Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro series was it. With home favourite Taddy BLAZUSIAK riding at his absolute best, accidents and incidents aplenty filled each of the three Prestige class finals. BLAZUSIAK proved unbeatable and secured three wins to take the night’s overall win ahead of David KNIGHT and Cody WEBB. In the Junior class the enthusiastic Polish crowd witnessed the emergence of a definite star of the future – US racer Ty TREMAINE. Dejected and downbeat 12 months ago having surprising failed to win the opening round of the 2014 SuperEnduro series, Taddy BLAZUSIAK showed everyone who was boss tonight inside the Ergo Arena. Clearly motivated to start the championship in the right way, the five-time SuperEnduro title winner’s night ended perfectly but started in absolutely the worst way.

Crashing with team-mate Jonny WALKER in the first corner of the opening final, Taddy put on what will be remembered as one of the all-time best come-from-behind rides to claim an amazing win. Spain’s Alfredo GOMEZ made the most of the chaos in the first turn, leading during the early laps before being passed by Cody WEBB. WEBB, who moved passed GOMEZ when the Husqvarna rider tangled with a lapped rider, looked like he had the race won. But in losing drive as he took off over a log jump he crashed heavily, throwing away his lead. By this time Taddy had worked his way in front of David KNIGHT for second and inherited the lead with just one lap to go. Claiming a well-deserved win Taddy finished ahead of KNIGHT and a disappointed WEBB.
