EnduroGP: Holcombe Too Strong

Finally! It was about time! After almost a year of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Borilli FIM Enduro World Championship finally resumed its rights tonight in Réquista, France, during the Akrapovic Super Test!

And it is an understatement to say that the riders had a blast! The desire to do battle and go hunting for lap times was palpable in all categories! This offered a magnificent show to the spectators present this evening… They were also able to witness the brilliant victory of Steve HOLCOMBE (GB – Beta) against his great rival and reigning EGP World Champion, Brad FREEMAN (GB – Beta) for 60 hundredths: 1’46.84 against 1’47.44! Behind the Beta Factory teammates, it was the Chilean Ruy BARBOSA (Husqvarna) who went for the 3rd fastest time in 1’48.50 just ahead of Loïc LARRIEU (F – TM), 1’49.60.

In the Juniors, it is therefore BARBOSA who will start with a few seconds ahead of the Sherco duo Théo ESPINASSE (F) and Krystof KOUBLE (CZ) while in Youth 125cc, Jed ETCHELLS (GB – Fantic) impressed!
In Open 2-stroke, Robert FRIEDRICH (CZ – KTM) won the inaugural special while Benet GOMEZ (E – Honda) and Arnaud ADAM (F – Honda) did the same in 4-stroke and Senior.

The excitement should be back in the morning at 8 a.m. for the start of real hostilities! The Réquista Moto Sport design a great track and the riders should delight the await spectators !
