The first team changes have begun to emerge during this off-season and it is Sherco Factory and the CH Racing team who make the first move by signing the reigning Junior World Champion Matteo CAVALLO (I)!
It’s a new and exciting move from Fabrizio AZZALIN and Sherco Factory. Which will see the 23 year old, who was dominant throughout last year, come face to face with the best Enduro riders in the EGP category.
Matteo CAVALLO: “I am very happy to sign my first factory contract and honoured to join Azzalin’s team. Fabrizio is an Enduro legend and a very good person. It’s a big step forward in my career, and now is the time to get down to work so I can have a great season riding a good bike.”
Fabrizio AZZALIN: “We were looking for a young rider with potential. Matteo is the Junior World Champion, so I really wanted to have him in my team and after talking with Thomas TEISSIER (General Manager of Sherco) and Jordan CURVALLE (Sherco Racing Team Manager), we agreed that Matteo is our best option. We are going to have a group of very motivated young riders next season. Matteo will make his debut against the top men of the discipline and the goal is to be competitive from the first GP onwards and to get plenty of podiums.”
Jordan CURVALLE: “We are really happy to be able to count on Matteo! He is a hard working young rider who knows where he wants to go… we are happy as well that Fabrizio will have one of the most promising young Italians. We will work with him to help him become one of the best riders in the world.”
So it’s a very strong move that the Sherco CH Racing team have made on the transfer market. As in 2018, the Franco-Spanish firm chooses to focus on young talent and with a manager such as AZZA, there is no doubt that CAVALLO will give the stars of EGP a hard time and even surprise a few onlookers…
