In front of more than 5,000 people, the stars of the FIM Maxxis EnduroGP World Championship put on a great show on a beautiful evening in Portugal, which ended with a fireworks display arranged by the Escuderia Castelo Branco!

On the racing side, Mathias BELLINO (F – Honda) believed for a long time that he was on course to win his first Akrapovic Super Test of the season, at his first Grand Prix appearance of the year, with a time of 3’08”39 the Frenchman set the bar very high and even though they were fast, Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS – Sherco), Christophe CHARLIER (F – Beta) and Jamie MCCANNEY (GB – Yamaha) all failed to topple BELLINO.
But you can never count out the 2017 winner of the Akrapovic Super Test Award, Alex SALVINI (I – Husqvarna), who, by nearly 2 seconds (3’06”62), stole the victory from the Honda ORC rider and won his second Super Test of the season!

As for the Juniors, Matteo CAVALLO (I – Beta) made a great time and deprived another Frenchman of the victory, Jean-Baptiste NICOLOT (F – Yamaha). The Brazilian talent Bruno CRIVILIN (KTM) also showed his potential by signing the third best time in the Under 23 year class ahead of the Chilean Ruy BARBOSA (Husqvarna), Wild Card in the class for this GP.

This beautiful evening was a great taster of what’s to come in this Polisport Grand Prix of Portugal. Once again the Escuderia Castelo Branco gave it their all to provide an excellent night of entertainment and leaves every body hungry to start tomorrow morning at 10.00 in Castelo Branco!
