A Kiwi in EnduroGP!

In recent years, EnduroGP has welcomed many Australian riders such as Matthew PHILLIPS (Sherco), Jemma WISON (Yamaha), Jessica GARDINER (Yamaha), and, in 2017, Daniel SANDERS and Ben KEARNS! But it had been a long time since we last saw a New Zealander taking on the special tests…

15 years after Paul WHIBLEY was racing in World Enduro, it is now Hamish MAC DONALD who will represent NZ in the FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship. In a country more typically known for its rugby, this young 19-year-old rider is an exception to New Zealand’s sporting rule…
Originally from Christchurch, MAC DONALD has traveled to Europe in the past to compete in events such as Romaniacs and Erzberg!

Already a multi-New Zealand Enduro Champion, MAC DONALD will ride on a Sherco with the support of Fabrizio AZZALIN and his team Sherco CH Racing – as did a certain WHIBLEY in 2003 when AZZA’s team raced with Husqvarna!
The Kiwi will be present for the whole Iberian tour, in Youth 125cc in Santiago de Compostela (Spain) and in Junior 1 in Castelo Branco (Portugal)!

In addition to Australians, Brazilians and Chileans, EnduroGP now welcomes a nation not seen in the sport since 2003! There is no doubt that Hamish MAC DONALD will be proud to wear the colours of NZ during this Iberian tour and will seek to show that his home country still has Enduro skills!
