In addition to the Factory team of Matthew PHILLIPS (AUS), Jack EDMONDSON (GB), Theo ESPINASSE (F) and Dan MUNDELL (GB), Sherco can count on the team TTR Officine Rigamonti and the Sherco Academy to bring more representation to EnduroGP…
In 2018 this Italian team from the Como region will arrive for the first time in the FIM Maxxis FIM Enduro World Championship.
Managed by Thomas GIANOTTI, the TTR Officine Rigamonti will present two riders: Mirko SPANDRE (I) in Junior 2 and Enrico RINALDI (I) in Youth 125cc.
9th in the Junior category in 2017, SPANDRE is back on the international scene, riding a Sherco 300 SEF-R, with the aim of the Top 5 Junior scratch and podiums in Junior 2.
For his part, Enrico RINALDI, son of 4 times World Champion Mario RINALDI, had already shown his interest last year in Spoleto (Italy). The Italian hopeful will aim to participate in the five 125cc Youth races this season, and could well be one of the major protagonists in this category.
As for the Sherco Academy run by Didier VALADE, no less than five riders will contest this season… David ABGRALL (F), of course, who will be a protagonist in Junior 2, but also Kilian LUNIER (F), Melvin MONZO (F) and Robin FILHOL (F) who will line up in Youth.
Without forgetting the young Belgian Matthew VAN OEVELEN who will certainly be a serious rival to title favourite Ruy BARBOSA (CL – Husqvarna) in the Youth class.
So, the youth are coming in EnduroGP! And once again the major nations who have traditionally dominated the discipline are returning, thanks to the opportunities offered by their Federations, and the private teams willing to commit to the championship. These ‘kids’ will be rubbing shoulders with the best international riders in the world… who said that young people are no longer interested in our beautiful sport of Enduro?!
