Present in the FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship since 2009, Romain DUMONTIER (F) and his father Hervé have also run their own private Yamaha team for 6 years… In 2018, DUMONTIER Racing have decided to expand, and they are welcoming three riders to compete under their awning.
Among the three riders, of course, will be Romain DUMONTIER. The first 125cc Youth Champion in 2009 will ride his special Yamaha WR294 2T and will face HOLCOMBE (Beta), NAMBOTIN (Gas Gas) and MCCANNEY (Gas Gas) in Enduro 3! Almost 30 years old, “Dudu” will also act as mentor to the two young French riders who will join his squad.
These two hopefuls are already familiar with the EnduroGP paddock…They are Thibaut PASSET and Jean-Baptiste NICOLOT. The two ex-residents of the EEAT (French Army team) will join DUMONTIER for 2018 and will also ride Yamaha, as they did last season with the Army.
These two youngsters will compete in the Junior 1 class riding the 250WRF and will have a good shot at fighting at the front in this competitive class! They will in any case be, along with Leo LE QUERE (F – TM), the spearheads of a nation which has been lacking in “young talent” for a few years. France will see 10 riders at the opening of the Junior and Youth 125cc Championships in a little over two weeks in Santiago de Compostela in northwestern Spain…
The effort of the DUMONTIER family and its structure is an example to follow for many other private individuals who are considering taking the big step towards EnduroGP. DUMONTIER Racing have a great chance with two of the most promising French youngsters and a Romain DUMONTIER, who will use his experience to fight hard in Enduro 3!
