A full-time team in the EnduroGP championship since last year, Kytönen Motorsport will be back in 2018 with a strong team of young Finns ready to aim for the highest places in the Youth 125cc (EY) and Junior (EJ) classes…
The manager of this Finnish team, Harri LEPPÄLAAKSO, decided to extend the deal with Hugo SVÄRD – who was fourth last season in Youth. SVÄRD will be one of the most credible contenders to succeed Andrea VERONA (I – TM), the 2017 EY Champion. His teammate will be Roni KYTONEN, who put in a strong performance in the final round of last year’s calendar in Zschopau, Germany, where he took a podium. Previously concentrating on the Finnish MX Championship, KYTÖNEN (son of Vesa, former World Champion) has decided to give priority to Enduro in 2018.
Finally, the Finnish team, equipped with Husqvarna bikes, will also run Lari JUKOLA (SF) in Junior. The brother of the current leader of EnduroGP, Aleksi JUKOLA, will line up in the brand new Junior 1 category. Lari has already had a taste of international competition, since he replaced Eemil POHJOLA (SF) in Portugal last season.
Harri LEPPÄLAAKSO, Team Manager: “This season we have decided to focus our strategy on the future of Finnish Enduro. From the beginning, our team was created to give young riders a chance to try out EnduroGP. Our three riders are young, highly motivated, and ready to fight and progress in their international careers. 2017 was a year of learning for all of us and this allowed us to improve and professionalise the team.”
Vesa KYTÖNEN, former World Champion & Team Owner: “For this season, we decided to create separate teams and each rider will have his own mechanic. It is a way for us to offer a better service to our young talents. I will be personally involved during each GP and I will try to bring all my experience to this very young team. See you at the races! ”
The Kytönen Motorsport team is working hard in 2018 and intends to play the leading roles in the youth categories. With even more involvement, the return of such a team in this Championship confirms the interest of Enduro all over the world and of course among young people!
