The second day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place at Gelnica, in Slovakia today. In four classes the European Champions have already been crowned.
The first new European champion was Joakim Grelsson in the U20 class for 125cc riders. In the morning the Swede was just nine points ahead, but his countryman and challenger Calle Johansson had technical problems and went out prematurely. So the KTM rider won this title as well as the working-pavilion, which the promoter Wolfgang Butzner had donated as support for the youngest riders.
The first day of the final round of the Enduro European Championship took place today at Gelnic, in Slovakia. More than 180 kms of challenging offroad trails had to be crossed.
In the overall, Junior Matteo Pavoni was able to defend his leadership with a seventh position.
The second rider in the championship, Oscar Balletti, suffered from a technical problem and the former third, the Italian Maurizio Micheluz, two times overall champion, won the special tests. Second position for German Marco Neubert in front of Jonathan Rosse from Switzerland.
Nina Klink van het WPM KTM team is in het Europees Kampioenschap Enduro in het Duitse Burg op het podium geëindigd. De eerste dag sloot Nina af als vierde en op de tweede dag werd de dame uit Raalte netjes tweede. After the third round of European Enduro Championship which took place in Burg, Ger- many (close to Magdeburg) there is a new leader: the only 19 year old Matteo Pavoni from Italy (in the photo) took the pole in the overall championship after another total win at the second day.
It wasn’t a perfect day for the KTM-rider, because a crash in the endure test costed him some seconds. But in the end he won in this strange and sandy conditions. Sand seems to be lucky for Pavoni, who snatched his title in the “under 20 class“ on the sandy ground of the European final 2016 in the Netherlands. This year climbing up into the Junior-E1- Class, from the 125 cc 2-stroke bike to the 250 cc 4-stroke KTM, he won both days the overall in Germany and took the pole in the Championship.
Second position of the day for his fellow countryman Maurizio Micheluz, who is fighting in the E3-class.
